https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=287207 Summary: Menus do not work in mwm Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: x86-64 OS/Version: openSUSE 10.2 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: X.Org AssignedTo: sndirsch@novell.com ReportedBy: R.Vickers@cs.rhul.ac.uk QAContact: sndirsch@novell.com Found By: Customer Under SuSE 10.2 the Motif Window Manager (Mwm) fails to find its configuration file, and as a result one cannot use mouse buttons to create new windows, logout, etc. This works properly in SuSE 10.1 and earlier. According to the man page the systemwide configuration file lives in /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/system.mwmrc The openmotif package stores it in /usr/share/X11/system.mwmrc But running strace on mwm shows that mwm actually looks in /usr/lib/X11/system.mwmrc Under SuSE 10.1 there was a link /usr/lib/X11 -> ../X11R6/lib/X11 but this link is no longer present and the two directories are distinct with different contents. Of course, in an ideal LSB-conformant world this file would live in /etc somewhere so that the administrator would not lose changes every time the system is updated. I am running openmotif-2.3.0beta2-32 and filesystem-10.2-22. There are two possible workrounds: either copy /usr/share/X11/system.mwmrc to /usr/lib/X11/system.mwmrc, or get every user to create $HOME/.mwmrc -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug.
