https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=253714 Summary: misleading menu name for connection to server Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: s.handgraaf@xs4all.nl QAContact: qa@suse.de Imho the current naming to create new server connection links is misleading. On the SuSELinux 10.1 Gnome desktop there is the menu places->connect to server. The current naming of "connect to server" suggests the dialog is to connect to a server. Instead, completing the dialog ends in creating a link on the desktop, without setting up a connection at all. As I understand from the Gnome documentation, the original implementation by Gnome realy was to connect to a server directly. Somehow this function changed during Gnome development or SuSE development. As far as this is not changed yet, my suggestion is to rename the menu item to something like "Create server link...". -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
