By adding "splash=0" to the Boot Options and typing Control-S at the right time it is possible to capture the messages before the modprobe errors and kernel panic. .. According to Intel's web site, the ICH6 has two SATA ports and one IDE port. According to the Device Manager in WinXP, my HDD is on the Primary Controller and is an HTS548060M9AT00 - 5400rpm 60GB ATA-6 IDE drive while the optical drive is on the Secondary Controller and is an _NEC DVD+-RW ND-6650A - IDE/ATAPI (Ultra DMA33 compatible). Both are PATA - does this mean the laptop has a SATA to PATA adapter for one of the devices? Otherwise they should both be on the same controller port. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
