https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=179475 ------- Comment #9 from andreas.hanke@gmx-topmail.de 2007-02-16 05:35 MST ------- Btw. the reporter might be interested in the fact that Fluendo now distributes legal gstreamer-based codecs for a fee. You can buy them at https://shop.fluendo.com/. These codecs work with totem, are neither free of charge nor free software and will never be included in the openSUSE distribution. Just in case you prefer a free solution, do what thousands of other Linux users do and ask in a user forum which is *not* maintained by a Linux distributor. This helps to prevent running Linux distributors into legal problems. As for comment 3, the more I think about it, the more I think that removing flv from totem.desktop would be wrong. The infrastructure to support this mime type is present, it doesn't conflict with Adobe's flash player as .swf does because Adobe's flash player doesn't support .flv either, and removing it prevents users from extending totem functionality. This is a general problem as described in comment 6 that needs a proper fix some day. You're not removing wmv, .asf etc. either, for the same reason, as it doesn't help users. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
