Then you probably switched from a CRT to a LCD monitor, which no longer can
handle the high frequencies the framebuffer mode of your graphics card uses
and X is configured to use. Probably it's a old graphics card (I know this from
ATI Mach64 cards e.g.). I suggest to set "vga=normal" in /boot/grub/menu.lst to
disable frameubffer and also reconfigure your Xserver by invoking "sax2". Let
