Summary: Xwindows not working/garbled / will not load
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: i686
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Critical
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: lorne@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I have a ViewSonic VX2025WM 20" LCD monitor. The first install, I accepted the
default configuration. On boot, Xwindows was garbled. I reinstalled and have
tried 15 different window sizes including the recommended 1680x1050 in the
installation setup screen. It is always garbled. I noticed that it is trying to
load in 4/3 and not 16/10 aspect ration like it should. I suspect this may be
the issue. I have been away from the technical aspect of this for some time now
and forget how to modify the xorg.conf file or what ever it is. I will leave it
for now to see if others have ideas.
