Summary: open SUSE 10.2 Installation procedure. Display setup
page. Highest refresh rate is turns monitor off.
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: 64bit
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Keywords: UI
Severity: Major
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Installation
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: ivan.izmailov@xxxxxxxx
QAContact: jsrain@xxxxxxxxxx

When pressing TEST (selected resolution) button on "monitor and display adapter
setup" page then Installation module chooses highest monitor refresh rate
automaticaly (in case of monitor Dell Trinitron D1025TM it was 150Hz (or even
160Hz)!) what causes black screen and monitor switching off. After 30 seconds
waiting, display mode is not turning back to safe parameters! User need to
press RESET button to restart installation procedure.

When setting display type and selecting desired resolution (1024x768) and NOT
pressing the TEST button then
After installation procedure was finished, display was automatiacaly switched
to user selected resolution (1024x768) and sets (by itself) display refresh
rate to 150Hz. -> as result User can hear the startup sound and watch black
sreen.

May be It would be better if monitor refresh rate whould be automaticaly select
middle values? Or May be be better if display mode will be changed back to safe
when user not confirmed tested resolution during 30 seconds?
