Summary: Graphics::Magick does not work
Product: openSUSE 10.2
Version: Final
Platform: Other
OS/Version: Other
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: nadvornik@xxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: coolo@xxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx

the example is straight from the man page (slightly modified of course :)

use Graphics::Magick;
$p = new Graphics::Magick;
$p->Read("coolo.jpg");

coolo@desdemona#~>perl t.pl
perl: symbol lookup error:
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i586-linux-thread-multi/auto/Graphics/Magick/Magick.so:
undefined symbol: InitializeMagick

I work around this by setting LD_PRELOAD, then it works:
coolo@desdemona#~>export LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/libGraphicsMagick.so.1.0.7
coolo@desdemona#~>perl t.pl
coolo@desdemona#~>

ldd -r
/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/i586-linux-thread-multi/auto/Graphics/Magick/Magick.so
should only show perl symbols (actually not even perl symbols, but that's the
way perl modules work).
