https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=229223 Summary: Opensuse appears to mark repository as "need refresh" when no network connection is available Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Final Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: libzypp AssignedTo: kkaempf@novell.com ReportedBy: swesemeyer@hotmail.com QAContact: kkaempf@novell.com I have set up my wireless network card on my laptop to be brought up manually using Kinternet. I also don't use zmd & rug(deselected that pattern) for software updates but use the Opensuse updater applet. Now when I login Opensuse updater tries to check for updates even though my network is still down. It then appears to mark all the repositories as in need of a refresh which takes forever to download when I next start the software management module in YAST. Is this a feature? I am pretty sure it didn't used to do that in Opensuse 10.0. I believe this is similar to bug 220193 which seems to indicate that my set-up is the one where the updater thinks I'm online even when I'm not. It would be nice if the updater was network aware even then. Also I'm not sure there is a need to mark repositories for refresh in that situation either. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
