https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=224356 Summary: Extended Attributes not enabled in kernel Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: RC 1 Platform: i686 OS/Version: SuSE Other Status: NEW Severity: Enhancement Priority: P5 - None Component: Basesystem AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: james@bear454.com QAContact: qa@suse.de According to the beagle-project FAQ (http://beagle-project.org/Enabling_Extended_Attributes): Your kernel will need support for extended attributes on the filesystem you are indexing. Although the user_xattr parameter is set for ext3 file systems in /etc/fstab, beagled still throws the following warning: Beagle WARN: Extended attributes are not supported on this filesystem. Performance will suffer as a result. ..indicating that the CONFIG_EXT3_FS_XATTR kernel option is not set. IMHO this should be set for best performance in beagle, as well as other uses (like samba). -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
