https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=218948 Summary: Resizing Vista NTFS partitions may keep Vista from booting. Product: openSUSE 10.2 Version: Beta 1 plus Platform: Other OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: P5 - None Component: Installation AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: kernel01@hailfinger.org QAContact: jsrain@novell.com On the NTFS-devel mailing list, I have seen a few reports that Windows Vista RC is unable to boot after any of the NTFS partitions it accesses are resized. The ntfsresize FAQ also mentions possible problems. See http://mlf.linux.rulez.org/mlf/ezaz/ntfsresize.html#vista for details. Unfortunately, it seems that there is no easy way to determine whether a given NTFS partition is accessed by Vista. The linux-ntfs developers are currently investigating a solution or at least reliable Vista detection. It might make sense to add a warning to the resizing dialog for NTFS partitions. -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
