https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=214360 Summary: GAIM 1.5.0-50 - Sign on button disabled Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: x86 OS/Version: Solaris 10 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: GNOME AssignedTo: bnc-team-gnome@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: panache1023@hotmail.com QAContact: qa@suse.de Launch GAIM select the account enter password "Sign on" button remains disabled, and so can not click on it to log in. I have a valid internet connection as I am surfing the web and using Kopete. I'd rather use GAIM, but it doesn't let me sign on because the button remains disabled!!!! I have a screenshot I can supply showing this bug, but I don't see anywhere I can attach a file. I reported this bug to the GAIM team, but they said that SuSE applied a patch called "gaim-1.5.0-dbus-onoffline.patch" where it disables the button if GAIM does not think that there is an internet connection. This is working totally incorrectly as I *AM* connected to the internet, but the button remains disabled, therefore I can not even attempt to log on. Personally, as a developer, I think this is a dumb feature. It would make way more sense for the user to press sign-on and have an error message say, "no internet connection"...i mean, I have no real understanding as to WHY that button is disabled, it just is, and I am very frustrated by it. Please let me know when this gets fixed, or what I could possibly be doing wrong...even though I don't think I'm doing anything wrong. I mean, entering my username and password and the "sign-on" button remains disabled, what could I be doing wrong? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
