Summary: GRUB boots slowly while resuming from suspend2disk
Product: SUSE Linux 10.1
Version: Final
Platform: i686
OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1
Status: NEW
Severity: Normal
Priority: P5 - None
Component: Other
AssignedTo: bnc-team-screening@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
ReportedBy: lashkevi@xxxxxxxxxxxx
QAContact: qa@xxxxxxx

After intalling last updates (in particular, patch-powersave-1854 and
patch-kernel-2036), GRUB boots VERY slowly just while resuming after
suspend2disk. It takes about a minute to load GRUB and install kernel and
initrd, while after normal shutdown it take not more than one second.

And there was no such problem before the update, nor with SUSE 9.3.

Hardware details:

IBM Thinkpad 600X
650MHz, 261MB memory

Partition table:
/dev/hda1 1 64 514048+ 82 Linux swap / Solaris

kernel 2.6.16.21-0.25-default
powersave-0.12.20-0.3
dbus-1-0.60-30
hal-0.5.6-33.11

Essential lines in /boot/grub/menu.lst:

title SUSE Linux 10.1
root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz root=/dev/hda2 vga=791 resume=/dev/hda1 splash=silent
acpi=force pci=noacpi acpi=noirq showopts
initrd /boot/initrd
