https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=212525 Summary: new network card, rtl8169, sends invalid packets? Product: SUSE Linux 10.1 Version: Final Platform: i586 OS/Version: SuSE Linux 10.1 Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: P5 - None Component: Kernel AssignedTo: kernel-maintainers@forge.provo.novell.com ReportedBy: jnelson-suse@jamponi.net QAContact: qa@suse.de In my very stable home networking environment, I just upgraded to gigabit ethernet. I acquired a gig-e switch, and two gig-e network cards. One of the cards is a VIA velocity and the other is a realtek RTL8169. The 'server' has the VIA velocity. I have begun noticing in the /var/log/messages file the message: Oct 15 19:38:39 turnip kernel: martian destination 127.0.0.1 from 192.168.2.10, dev eth1 which usually repeats a number of times. 192.168.2.10 is the 'client', eth1 is the via velocity. Why is this happening and is it a sign of improper initialization in the network card driver for the rtl8169, or is the via velocity at fault? -- Configure bugmail: https://bugzilla.novell.com/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are on the CC list for the bug, or are watching someone who is.
