I tested this with acpi=off or noapic but neither helped. Ran the
2.6.19-rc1-mm1 kernel and the SATA disk and DVD drive appeared. So it appears
that this problem is fixed in the -mm branch. I was a little shocked to see
the SATA drives are now seen as IDE.
