Hi, I think, there are some bugs with the SLES SP3 installer.
e. g. some packages get always installed (SuSEFirewall, providers, jfsutils, rsh, rsync...) I' ve set and no addons. I don't want to delete the packages after isntallation.
These are in the Minimal.sel file so you would have to build your own selection file to remove them or modify the Minimal.sel (I would make a copy of it just in case)
I think without sax2 you can't do a automated installation with a minimal X-system.
hmmm not sure about this one - I install all my systems with the textmode parameter so no X
The ntp-server will get no entry in the /etc/ntp.conf. The entry under /etc/sysconfig/xntp exists. <ntp_servers config:type="list"> <ntp_server>ntp-server</ntp_server> </ntp_servers>
to populte the /etc/ntp.conf file you can always do: <file> <file_contents> server ntp1.server.net server ntp2.server.net server ntp3.server.net driftfile /etc/ntp.drift logfile /var/log/ntp </file_contents> <file_path>/etc/ntp.conf</file_path> </file>
How to eject CD-Rom before reboot?
I made my own CD's adding the hardisk entries from SuSE 8.2 to my isolinux.conf default harddisk # hard disk label harddisk kernel linux append SLX=0x202 showopts This has the advantage that you can default to harddisk and only do a build when manually selecting your build option and you can do rescue boots from CD. This can be useful if your server is 30 miles away from your office ;) Best regards Hubba
