Anyone knows what's the problem and how can I autoinstall SuSE with the hardware configured properly?
I also would like to know about configuring sound cards. I have tried
... <sound> <autoinstall config:type="boolean">true</autoinstall> </sound> ...
but I seems doen't work. Maybe I need aditional parameter (as described in "4.1.13.2. Sound devices" in the documentation)? How could I get them?

Hi, I get exactly the same behaviour with SuSE 8.2: Automatic sound configuration does not work at all, and my hardware (cdrom, ethernet) is "newly" detected the first time I login to X. However, after simply pressing 'Cancel' in the configuration wizard popup-window, the wizard doesn't show up again in successive logins (although I mark that I would like to be kept informed about new hardware). The workaround I use for the sound is simply to insert a complete modules.conf file (that I got from a manual installation) in the "Complete Configuration Files" section in AutoYast2, so it will be copied to a newly installed system. I didn't yet test the update package for AutoYast2, maybe these problems are fixed there.
