Dear all! The conference needs sponsors and we need to approach them soon! Based on the sponsorship brochure from earlier editions, we've made a couple of adjustments, and would like to request the artwork team (or anyone with any DTP talent) to help us out in designing a visually appealing version which we can distribute asap! [opensuse-artwork] RFC: Website Redesign (Recolor) That meets new branding guidelines

Hi All, I thought it was about time we looked at the website again, ever since the 13.2 banner has been on the landing page it has bugged me due to how much the colors clash with the green and orange rectangle. I don't have the time to redesign the entire website + wiki + forums and everything else, but I figured i probably do have time to go through the stylesheets and recolor the website to match the new branding guidelines http://opensuse.github.io/branding-guidelines/ so that is what i have done. If someone is in the process of redesiging everything nice work and go for that instead. There is 1 content / design change i would like to make to the front page and that is to add the top navigation bar present in the wiki and forums, i have always found it hard to navigate the rest of the site from the front page, so i guess others do as well and i think that that will help. I have done some mockups using the firefox inspection tools that allow messing with and replacing stylesheets. I use a wiki as my notepad, and the list of changes i have made can be found there, http://notes.simotek.net/doku.php?id=projects:opensusee:website, I have also created css files that can be pasted in over the exisiting ones so that you can try out the changes, although they will disappear as soon as you navigate to another page. I was wondering if there are any test servers running mirroring the sites that i could get access to that would make life much easier as would knowing where all the source code lives. Hi everyone This email might sound like the beating of a drum, but there is an issue I believe needs to be agreed upon as a community as we move forward. That issue is the logo, its use, and the deviation of its use on graphical elements for openSUSE events. Before going any further, I want to point out that this email is not criticizing any efforts of the past or present; it's merely to seek a conclusion about having a standardized/modular graphical element for future openSUSE events. Graphical elements for things like summits, mini summits and conferences help to strengthen the openSUSE brand, but it's important that the elements also remain consistent to support growing the openSUSE brand. A first step toward branding guidelines for these standardized/modular graphical elements for openSUSE can be found on Github at http://opensuse.github.io/branding-guidelines. The website has downloadable resources to allow for us to be consistent with our messaging and brand image. We ask that you try to use the guidelines, contribute to the efforts and have your say so that community design's are consistent and recognizable at worldwide events. The efforts to strengthen and grow our branding have only just begun. We are currently in the process of furthering and refreshing the work started in 2014. Sharing your experience using the guidelines mentioned above will help improve future versions. When your event poses a unique challenge that is counter to the branding guidelines, please send an email to the design team at design(a)suse.de to discuss how the graphical element you propose can better align with branding, marketing and messaging efforts.
