Hi all.
I think that while that was an interesting idea, mathematical shapes do not seem to represent the best or most recognizable feature of openSUSE, namely the color green and the gecko.
Did you take part in the discussion when it happened and raised your complaints? I do not remember so.
I don't know about Andi, but I was not involved with artwork when that discussion happened, but I can agree with him that there are better things than output from "surf". Of course, when I used bezier-curves, gradients and ellipses in inkscape, one could understand that those were "mathematical shapes", too. That would allow for about anything including the very nice art from Piotr,
Mathematical surfaces have always been a unique identifier to SUSE (and could easily become again for openSUSE). I also like Piotr's concept, but it's more a light makeover of what we had in 11.2 Besides that I just wonder why things that have been agreed, cannot be trusted in this group, and this is what makes me angry a bit. I have talked to several ppl, trying to find one who helps us with the surfaces, and now I can tell him, we have decided not to stick with that concept. If that's the way things go here, I am not willed to help out anymore.
