Hi listmates,
The other day I installed openSUSE 11.3 on a laptop and I paid attention to the installer's artwork. It uses both GNOMEish and KDEish icons and a GNOMEish cursor theme. Wouldn't it look better with one set of icons that matches the style of the cursor theme (ie: Oxygen)?
+1
Thats why I made the proposal. I made a lot of snapshots of the installing process and recognized that incosistencies, but they are not only in icons, some times in colors of progress bars and buttons to.
gnokii has already done some work on making the installer look better http://karl-tux- stadt.de/ktuxs/?p=2547 Any other thoughts on the installer's artwork?
When u look to my proposals, there are not so lot icons anymore. I removed them nearly all. Only of two pages are "icons", that are the pages where the user have to make a choice.
I noticed in the KDE Installation a wrong set "Next" arrow. It was like this (Sorry don't have a screenshot right now:
| <= Back | | => Next |
And on in the Gnome Variant is the "Next" Button a kind of "Reply Arrow" ... like edit-redo.png in Tango just showing in the opposite direction. This is a usability issue.
