What I meant was, apply the patch CD to the installed OS by booting from the patch CD. :o On Fri, 2005-03-11 at 08:36 -0600, Ron Lau wrote:

Out of desperation, I ended up installing 9.1 32bit (because I dont have a DVD drive, and 9.1 doesn't recognize my on-board nic, so I had to use the CD's) Then I added support for my nic, then I upgraded by NFS to 9.2, thinking I could then (without rebooting) add the PatchCD, but YaST failed to appply it. Now my poor little box is once again lifeless :(
Is there a way to apply the patchCD without actually booting the machine?

HELP!
I need the patch CD to install 9.2 on an AMD with sata, but I don't have a DVD drive so I need to use my NFS server.
How do I merge the patchCD with the 9.2 install files so that I can install from the nfs server and use the PatchCD kernel?
If you just want to use the kernel, then boot from it...
Otherwise: There should be some SDB Articles on portal.suse.com about this,
