I should have replied earlier, but I just wanted to say, "Doh!" -- for some reason I thought that the initrd was inappropriate because I wasn't booting from the 3ware devices. I made the change on a couple of boxes (as James did above) and rebooted -- it was perfect. Thanks, Patrick
