Actually it's complaining about genksyms not being present. What is the
correct procedure to build something like vmware? I think last time i
symlinked the programs it was looking for (found in the <kernel>-obj
directory) to where it was looking for them in the src tree.
thanks again!

I am trying to reconfigure vmware and it says that the file Module.symvers is missing. Is there any way to recreate that short of doing a full source build?
I installed the source and the smp rpms.
Thanks, edward

The kernels contain a lot of fixes since 2.6.4, including even some backports from 2.6.6 and 2.6.6.
Btw. the kernels should also work with the Nvidia driver.
If you encounter problems with the kernel, please tell me directly.
