Thanks for that. Will give a go later. Dumb question. I presume you stll have to boot strap via IDE disks when installing 9.0, get a system running then apply the patches, recompile, then you'll get the SATA disks available ? Regards Alan

hdparm shows 58MB/s, no error until now, heavy compiling today using the drives.
