[yast-devel] https://en.opensuse.org/SDB:Linuxrc in need of edit???
NameScheme=by-label on installer cmdline has had no effect I have observed for a lot longer than I can remember, several years at least, continuing in 15.3 build 117.13. Has it been removed and the linuxrc page need matching update? Is this a broken installer option? Am I not understanding why it's listed on the linuxrc page? Shouldn't it prevent me from needing to change default mount by in the expert partitioner? -- Evolution as taught in public schools, like religion, is based on faith, not on science. First of all, sorry for the delay. I overlooked this mail back then. On 4/15/21 8:43 AM, Felix Miata wrote:

Is listed there because is a linuxrc option that still works as documented. It changes how linuxrc references the devices and how it passes the name of those devices to subsequent stages of the installation (via the install.inf file).

No. The documentation says nothing about that. The documentation states it affects the name scheme used by linuxrc. It doesn't mention YaST, the Expert Partitioner or any other installer component beyond linuxrc itself. Cheers. -- Ancor González Sosa YaST Team at SUSE Software Solutions
