Perhaps so, since APT is notoriously dumb with decisions and the libapt interface is meant to be pretty horrible, this is part of the reason why Ubuntu even considered switching over to the 'Smart' Package Manager. Thing is, most likely case whenever a _user_ thinks that DEB is superior to RPM for a given reason, it's probably quite baseless. With regard to YaST, it is truly wonderful and still -- after so many years -- _still_ something that no other distributions have even a remote match to.
