Agreed. Just showing some general information about what's going on (like the number of pending packages), together with the release notes is the perfect solution in my opinion. We always complain users don't read the release notes, so let's put them before their eyes with no other option.
A user's perspective: the progress bars that the installer is showing currently for the number of pending packages and the ETA is really useful. May I request the older "slideshow" be brought back? I'm speaking as both a user and an engineer - in our product, we were using the Slide Shows to illustrate some of the features of the product. But in SLES 15 and Leap 15.x, the yast2- slideshow package has been moved out. The slide shows were helpful both from a promotional as well as educational point of view. As a user, I would be more interested in the "Features" rather than the "Release Notes". Sure, Release Notes are useful and is already available, but most of the times, I miss reading the wiki page for the Features. For example, until last week, I didn't know about Tilix in Leap 15.2 even though I've been running 15.2 for more than a year now. And while reading about Tilix, I came to know about OnionShare. (Sure, you can call me someone living under a rock! :-) Regards, Srinidhi.
