SUSE 8.2 when running X the desktop is offset about 1.5 inches up the screen. I have read the The Hitchhiker's Guide to X386/XFree86 Video Timing and tried to make adjustments using sax2. I have also done a good amount of searching on Compaq Laptop setup and tried most of what I have come across, in terms of display, graphics card. I have not made adjustments directly in XFConfig due to possible damage to screen. Perhaps this is where I need to put in some specific lines for the M700? I was anticipating the XFine2 tool would be able to assist with this problem. However abseloutly nothing happens when I try to change the position with Xfine2. The mouse geometry is correct which makes using the desktop pretty weird. I have tried different window mgrs with same results. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks and regards Steve Collinson
