Hi, I try to set up an external display for my Dell laptop + Dell monitor. My first attempt was to use the sax suggestion, but this does not work. The monitor says: This mode cannot be displayed. Sax configured dual head and has a 1920x1200 modeline and the laptop display works fine, but the external display does not show anything. Sax used the radeon driver. Some time ago I found a web site giving advice on this issue and they suggested using the "ati" driver that comes with xorg. I have an old xorg.conf and this also works with SuSE 10.1. However the picture is not very sharp. I want to use the DVI connection to the screen to improve this. I have a docking station that provides a DVI port, but I do not know how to enable the DVI output. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
