Thanks for the tip. I looked at that and it was set to "no". I've enabled that but unfortunately there is no change. It doesn't matter if I use VNC, VNC java client, or FreeNX. All of them do not work. I still get a black screen with an X cursor. So this tells me it's an issue with kdm or xorg. i wonder what would be stopping X or kdm from displaying remotely..... verified virus free by Usermail.com

check what matrix and rates your using for your screens, there was a similar problem way back with 6.x's xfree and different refresh rates. I know your dealing with xorg now but, just maybe....... scsijon
