I used to speed up the keyboard repeat rate via

# xset r rate 200 75

When I moved from Xfree86 to X.Org (SuSE 9.2 current FTP version), the behaviour changed:

Now when pressing a key, it waits 200 ms before it starts repeating with a rate of 75 (as before), but after about 25 repeated characters the repeat rate slows down abruptly.

Is that a new undocumented feature?
