By the way, the author talks about those X lockups with ATI driver...I have A7V-E with KT133, Athlon1200, radeon 9000, something similar, and it seems that I'm getting those lockups(just X; the system is alive, even the mouse moves, but unable to kill it or switch to console) as well on a pretty much random basis(the only(and strange) way I found to reproduce it so far is to go into KDE's control center, fonts, "change all fonts", click on the font size, and then try to move the window around). I heard something about hardware problems with kt133 chipset and athlons but I never found any workarounds(playing with bios settings seems to have no effect; neither does acpi=off or mem=nopentium). Anyone have any thoughts on this? Something similar seems to happen with dri driver, except much more rarely, and also with both X 4.2(my older Debian setup) and 4.3(my current - SuSE 9.0). Would be very nice to hear any ideas before I try, as a final resort, to update the bios :)...
