Hi, I have a Geforce4 440 Go 64Mb in my notebook (Suse 9.1) and I don't get any external projector (germans call it a "beamer") to work with it - external lcd display works fine. I use the nvidia driver. I think it may have to do with the resolution & the frequencies. I switched back to 800x600 in sax and the projector at least startet displaying moving stripes. I need this thing to work in 1024x768, so any help would be greatly appreciated. you can find my current config in http://213.133.99.51/temp/XF86Config . the synaptics-mousepad inserted there works great, as well. Currently, I only get the standard-blue-screen of the beamer, as if it did not get any signal at all. I tried yanc but I don't know about the frequencies of the beamer. These are used for the metamodes I have to define to witch on twinview. Actually; I'm not even sure if that is what I need, since twinview seems to be a second logical display. So I tried "clone" but that does not work as well. I just want the projector just to show the display as I can see it on the screen. I reproduced this problem on three different types of projectors. By the way, of course I also tried Option "MetaModes" "1024x768 @x,1024x768 @x" (yanc) with the more conformant "MetaModes" "1024x768,1024x768". I also tried useEdidFreqs... Of course I tried switching back and forth to and from my screen with Fn+F3. I also tried STRG+ALT+FN+Ö (^=CTRL+ALT+"+") and STRG+ALT+FN+P (^=CTRL+ALT+"-") and restarting my X server (CTRL+ALT+Backspace). Sometimes, I also started my notebook with the beamer connected. Oh, and it's about a projector on VGA-Out, not on TV-Out or so. Interestingly, I can set 800x600-resolutions with xrandr -s, and that does not display anything on the projector. As I said, if I do this with SAX, it may display stripes. I would be very, very grateful if anybody had a constructive idea, Jochen -- mit freundlichen Grüßen Jochen Stärk www.usegroup.de Albigerstr. 22 55232 Alzey Tel: 06731/997997-5 Fax: 06731/997997-6 Mobil: 0177/4512645
