Well. Certainly there is no way to think on the configuration file for the X server if one has a "problem" with the X server (sigh!)...
If it should really be shift- and not Ctrl-ALt-Backspace then it is definitly a thing with the Xmodmap and then you just need to disable the correspondig key combination in your *personal* startup file.
