ATI 9600SE AGP & Xfree86 Drivers

I have SuSE 9.0 Pro and a ATI 9600SE AGP card I have tried the drivers from ATI and SuSE and Have not been able to get them to work. I have 2D by using the vesa framebuffer graphics driver that is available in SuSE. They work for 2D But cannot get 3D to work. No matter what driver I try. Does anyone have this card working with SuSE and Xfree86 4.30? If so what drivers did you use and how did you install them? Mel

multiple wm

hi- I initially installed suse 9 over ftp with the 'minimal with graphics' option. this installed it w. the FVWM2 wm. after that i installed GNOME and KDE through YAST. i however don't see those other wm as a options when i try to login. is there some configuration i am missing. i have all relevant GNOME and KDE packages. thanks. monosij __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? I wonder where can I get information about future SUSE release? I need to know what version of major software will be included(i.e. kernel2.6.x? xfree4.4? gnome2.6?) -- No pasaran!

Nvidia Drivers

I installed the "NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-5336-pkg1.run" driver for my 5600 FX card on a fresh install (with all the YAST online updates) of SuSE 9.0. Now when I boot, when the kdm starts I get a dead screen. What I do next is restart the X-server via CONTROL-ALT-DEL, and then I get the Nvidia logo and the login screen. When I exit my window manager session, same thing. Dead screen, restart the X-server, I'm good to go. Any ideas on what's causing this ? --Matthew -------------------------------------------------------

XVisualInfo problem

Hello, I am having problems with X window rendering and GLXFBConfig. If I try the choose a GLXFBConfig with attribute GLX_ALPHA_SIZE,8, then I get an error. I checked this and it seems that I don't have an XVisualInfo which has a alpha color buffer different from 0, although xdpyinfo gives that I have 12 visuals. I have a quadro FX 500 graphical board, and I tried already to install the latest four nvidia drivers for it. Nothing helps. I am just changed from redhat 9.0 with nvidia driver 1.0-4363, and there I had no problems. Does someone know how I can get the appropriate visual, and can solve the problem?
