[opensuse-wiki] Templates unification (usability)

One of ideas with sorting and rewriting templates in old wiki was to make all templates appear the same way. The reason was that before some templates where positioned in center, some with text positioned left, some in the middle, different sizes and probably more things that made reading hard. We set that width should be 100%, all left aligned. Accidentally our efforts are good aligned with Wikipedia Usability initiative. We never made to the stage where even colors would be unified as Rupert came with idea to sort whole wiki and work went in that direction. Now I can see that idea of unification and usability improvements of templates is deteriorating again. I changed background color from #DDDDDD to #F6F6F6 which is lighter gray that will provide better contrast and is part of color palette for Bento: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Template:Intro http://wiki.opensuse.org/Template:Special_info The size of Template:Intro is another problem, as now it depends on content, which will give differences with text shorter then full line length, but I didn't change that. The 100% doesn't work well with Bento, it has to be 96.5% for the same visual effect. I guess that first thing after transfer is completed to satisfactory extent is to go back to our usability initiative, with more unified elements, better text to background contrast and more discussions how to improve user experience. -- Regards Rajko, -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org
