A guess: If you are referring to your own edits: http://en.opensuse.org/Special:Preferences register: Watchlist "[x] Hide my edits from the watchlist" should exclude your own edits form your watchlist and "[x] E-mail me when a page on my watchlist is changed" should in that case not result in an email for an edit by your own. Hi Everyone, I have implemented Google Custom Search on enstage.opensuse.org, and I am personally very happy with the results. To try it out, you can visit http://enstage.opensuse.org/Portal:GoogleSearch and try searching on anything you want. It is about a thousand times better than what we have, and with the better relevance ranking, namespace searching is no longer an issue. While the current search is advertisement supported, I am nearly positive that we can get ad support removed. It seems that Google is pretty willing to do this for non-profits. What does everyone think? If you don't have access to the staging site, I will be more than happy to send you a screen shot of the search page. If everyone is on board, I will ask Thomas to edit the theme to make it the default search, and we'll send it live. Thanks, Matt

Hello Tim, hello list, I guess in the case you (Tim) mentioned is an other sub-program/mechanism working than in case of (directly) editing a normal article/a sub-category page on your watchlist. Example: If you add "booger" to category "funny food" you edit only the source code of "booger" but the content of "booger" *and* "funny food". So if "funny food" is on your watchlist the Mediawiki tools have to do 'extra thinking' (with a extra tool?). Hello Tim, hello list, it seems to me that the en.wikipedia has choosen the/an other alternative/variant but I think wikipedia's is not the better one: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Watching_pages#Alternatives_to_watchlists : "Related Changes can also be used to monitor changes to pages belonging to a category, including the addition of pages to the category (*which is not picked up by placing the category on a watchlist*).
