[opensuse-wiki] Handling of the KDE Sites
Hello Mates, atm we're reworking our Sites like you. But we have an short Question. Under the KDE/* Hierarchy we have an Mix of KDE3 and KDE4. So one of our reviewer asked for an idea. He has proposed to delete KDE3 Content (it isn't supportet yet) and make an KDE4 only Content with an KDE3 Entry in the History. I don't know if deleting it is such a good idea yet. You can still get
KDE 3 with 11.2. It's as simple as adding a repo.
Just my 2 cents.

KDE3 is not officially supported in 11.2, but we have to wait until 11.1 runs out of support. The http://en.opensuse.org/SUSE_Linux_Lifetime gives for openSUSE 11.1 - December 31st 2010, before that time KDE3 must be part of KDE. After that it can be transferred to namespace Archive that is available on the new English wiki http://wiki.opensuse.org/ and it will be created on language wikis. BTW, we have to think how we can use it. It is meant as a storage for content that we want to preserve for any reason and that should be rather made available as browsable page then link to page history. The openSUSE weekly news comes in mind as major user of Archive namespace, but also launch parties and many other things that have current value, but not permanent, can populate Archive instead of Main namespace (the one without any prefix). You can see all namespaces available using empty search: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Special:Search?search=&fulltext.x=34&fulltext.y=9&fulltext=Search or in drop down list of: http://wiki.opensuse.org/Special:AllPages The Type, Concept and Property with associated Talk namespaces belong to extension Semantic MediaWiki and should not be used for other content. -- Regards Rajko, -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help@opensuse.org

KDE3 is not officially supported in 11.2, but we have to wait until 11.1 runs out of support. Hmm, I would not appreciate it if the KDE3 content would vanish completely. There are still good usecases for KDE3. But having it in some archive area is cool.
