yes, that's intentional. The downside is that the logo does not fit when using very small font-sizes. I have tried a percentage width for the logo (width: 92%) which does the trick, but then the browser renders the image, resulting in poor quality. A minimum width for the left column is not an option, too, because this would require a variable left margin for the content area and that is not possible with CSS at the moment. Specifying the left column width in percent or with a fixed value is also no option, because this will result in text becoming wider than the column when using large fonts.
