Oh my god - that's what I'd call usability chaos :-)
We need to categorize and document them.
It seems that mediawiki-1.15 provides additional special pages that could help with cleaning and organizing the templates:
- unused templates
- wanted templates
- uncategorized templates
- most linked-to templates
...
