Hi,
thanks for all the valuable feedback on the new download page. I have tried to implement the majority of your suggestion for improvement in the newest version which you can find at
Looks good.
* Orange colour: - open issue, though I am not sure it will change ;)
Please, not orange! I need Green!-)
* clickable icons in front of the download links - Sigh, is this really necessary? It's a pain to implement it in proper HTML (avoiding tables) for all browsers
I personally don't think it is worth even a little bit of trouble and/or cross-platform problems. Heck, get rid of them entirely.
* a small text "right click on the icons to save as" - Why? A left click downloads the file ...
Sometimes that doesn't work. I see the latest version has the right click option. I would give both - "Left click to download or right click and choose Save As..."
* there should be some kind of explanation about md5sum Too confusing for beginners, especially from the Windows world.
I agree, especially as it makes keeping the web page up to date a little more work. My only major complaint is the light grey text (FF 2.0.0.2, openSUSE 10.2). It's just barely readable on top of the white background. I'd make it a tad darker. -- Jonathan Arnold (mailto:jdarnold@buddydog.org) Daemon Dancing in the Dark, an Open OS weblog: http://freebsd.amazingdev.com/blog/ UNIX is user-friendly.
