Yes, but again it is mediawiki search. Try wikipedia.org with some words and see what they do.
they do differently, but not really in a good way (IMHO)
I added to my own page a link to google based on your remark. It works. But may I use it on the front page? I'm reluctant to do so. not sure.
In the same form that I see on your page, sure you can. Let me see for google search box, like the one that can be seen on some web pages. http://www.google.com/services/siteflavored.html This demands some consultations with a Core Team. The question is would the Novell like the idea of embedding Google search, than, would Google be happy with it too.
look at "google search" http://fr.opensuse.org/Utilisateur:Jdd_sysop

Yes, it is effective. That might be something that will better fit as opensuse.org front page. I'll take idea and see how to include something like this in list_of_proposals. I have feeling that "Accueil-ized" page will be by taste of the majority. BTW I hope that you'll be able to find time to help if the blowfish and me don't get all right :-)
My idea is directory like http://dmoz.org, but it is many hands job, and for now it will not work on opensuse.org. Or maybe, to create the page and ask for help?
I like the dmoz style, my ideal would be to modify the built-in categories to support something like that. However, I am still trying to figure out how they work. I suspect that the underlying engine would have to be hacked. From the look of the wikimedia site (http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help_talk:Category) there is discussion of problems with the categories, but I don't see much evidence of response. --- L Greg Lisle
