It means the "Get Software", "openSUSE Wiki" and "Build Software" labels are not localizable. I think we should put this section to the editable part. thanks kalman --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help(a)opensuse.org --===============8774343242098360002==-- From stbinner@suse.de Mon Oct 1 08:39:54 2007 From: Stephan Binner To: wiki@lists.opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse-wiki] Wiki top left section Date: Mon, 01 Oct 2007 10:40:37 +0200 Message-ID: <200710011040.38229.stbinner@suse.de> In-Reply-To: <7ed179420709291151v3fc37462td05b645cc16cb96b@mail.gmail.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="===============2438346300442952205==" --===============2438346300442952205== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit On Saturday, 29. I think we should put this section to the I also do not like having the "Discover it" slogan graphic above every localized wiki. My suggestion is to have a more general "openSUSE Wiki" there as it's likely too much work to create a proper localized slogan graphic with the right font for every wiki. Actually I wouldn't mind having "openSUSE Wiki" also above the English wiki. The graphical slogan is a problem, not only in the wiki. On the other side, it looks much better than using a "normal" sans-serif font. Therefore I'd put the focus on how to make image generation easier ;-) Is it possible to have an slogan image generator online, with restricted access to, say, wiki-admins? I know this isn't a problem from the technical POV (a htpasswd-protected PHP script can generate the image easily) - the question is if the font license permits this. If this is not possible, someone @SUSE will have to create the images. (Sorry, but unless there's a better way...) I'd say this takes less than a minute when you have created a template in GIMP and only change (read: copy&paste) the text. Yes, this was done intentionally. On the one hand we wanted to have this piece of the navigation being the same on all servers, so people will have no trouble finding the other opensuse servers. On the other hand, the Build Service and the Download server are not localised, so it would be misleading to translate these entries (and openSUSE Wiki cannot be translated anyway). -- Regards Frank Frank Sundermeyer, Technical Writer, Documentation SUSE Linux Products GmbH, Maxfeldstr. 5, D-90409 Nuernberg Tel: +49-911-74053-0, Fax: +49-911-7417755; http://www.opensuse.org/ SUSE LINUX Products GmbH, GF: Markus Rex, HRB 16746 (AG Nürnberg) Reality is always controlled by the people who are most insane (Dogbert) --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+unsubscribe(a)opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse-wiki+help(a)opensuse.org --===============6275299992641800895==-- From opensuse@cboltz.de Tue Oct 2 22:53:04 2007 From: Christian Boltz To: wiki@lists.opensuse.org Subject: Re: [opensuse-wiki] Wiki top left section Date: Wed, 03 Oct 2007 00:53:28 +0200 Message-ID: <200710030053.29853@tux.boltz.de.vu> In-Reply-To: <200710021039.38235.stbinner@suse.de> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="===============5030120532157566996==" --===============5030120532157566996== Content-Type: text/plain; charset="utf-8" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit Hello, on Dienstag, 2. Have the wiki-admins the right to replace/change the wiki > theme? Create a MediaWiki:Slogan template that includes the image. The admins can then upload/replace the image as needed.
