Hi All, Currently I am working on the docbook wiki migration at Hungarian site. I have a problem using nested templates: {{Template:Note|Subject|Message {{Template:command|commandline}} }} Is it mediawiki version related or completly not supported method? Hi! I wanted You to really sorry for my absence in translating opensuse.org into Polish. I just really don't have neither time nor even internet connection for now. I do not know when I will be able to continue this task so I removed every link to Polish pages where possible because of their out-of-date state. Once again sorry! Hello, http://en.opensuse.org/Welcome_to_openSUSE.org has "New Mailing List opensuse-translation" in the news box. Unfortunately, the link to the list archive is broken (probably because of the new mailinglist server) - can one of the admins please fix this? [opensuse-wiki] openSUSE web site for low end network

If you follow the various openSUSE mailing lists, you may know I use to advocate we must take into account the so many low end harware users. This is not only for helping the poors, but also because I'm very confident than the coutries that have such problem today will be in the first place in the market in the very few years from now on. helping them is a good bet on the future. and it's cheap :-) I noticed that the openSUSE wiki is very hard to read with a 56k modem connection. (I know there are some of us that use it, congratulations :-). so it could be wise to have a helper for them in the form of a static web site. Of course we can't afford to make a static web site as dynamic as the openSUSE wiki, but before using too much time to work on this, is it possible (politically possible, accepted by Novell) to have a static copy of the wiki linked from the hub screen we just discuss? I think of a script generated web site from the actual wiki (probably only the english one, but who knows?) The http://en.opensuse.org/Tasks list is by now quite large . It is not always easy to find what to do and what is already done. Well defined tasks are important for success of any project. For each participant is easier to pick up some well defined job than to make guesswork from present offer what is the most important, how far article should be developed, what is the best way to structure article. This is specially true for projects in the initial phase like openSUSE wiki. It is time to reorganize Tasks page to list tasks by groups with additional information: * urgency * planned subtasks * proposed article structure * who is working on it * what is already done * ... Some smart template from our template specialists would make this easier, or maybe there is some other way like bugzilla for software, that has all this included, and tasks page should contain only link to this task tracking tool. ==Tasks== ===Wiki=== * structure chart and plans, * maintenance, * standards, * guides, * wish list, * plans, * ... ===Distribution documentation=== * Technical ** specifications, ** standards, ** manuals, ** ... * User ** HowTo, ** tips, ** FAQ, ** SDB, ** ... ===Illustrations=== * Artwork ** article illustrations, ** buttons, ** banners, ** window decoration ** ... ===Technical=== * Diagrams, * Flow charts, * Schematics, * ... ===Programming=== * ... Hi, working on the feedback for yesterday's Splash screen and last weeks Home page proposal, I updated these two pages on the server. http://www.suse.de/~fs/opensuse/splash.html http://www.suse.de/~fs/opensuse/home.html Splash screen: - implemented Christian's css fixes - added Turkish (was missing in previous versions) - replaced openSUSE writing - added search graphic Home page: - all icons are now from the KDE crystal icon set (except the download icon, which is from YaST, but fits nicely (IMHO)) - icon size is now 48x48 (was 64x64 before) - swapped help and news boxes - added "openSUSE Graphics" box I also tried to make the "tail" a background image of the home page, as was suggested. Looks horrible ;-). Hi, first, a big "Thank you" to Rajko for making this really cool suggestion for the splash screen. Seems that we will reach an agreement very soon with this proposal. All required pages are translated, as well as templates, sidebar, required words, etc. However, the Template:NotTranslated didn't exist, so the text on the guide page was simply put in a simple text document.
