[opensuse-web] Deletion request fort DFIR article on the wiki.

http://en.opensuse.org/DFIR_-_Audit_Tools It is not wiki contributing editor fault to have problems deciphering our structure that requires hours of study before anything can be written. Current structure is not a low threshold for potential contributors, nor for new wiki editors. DFIR can look better, but it is up to wiki team to give advice, and help editing. Wiki maintainers have to find time for easy and educational approach. Deletion request for article that was obviously created with limited knowledge of wiki editing is far from that. In particular Greg is one of people that are trying to help openSUSE with his expertise in Digital forensics and incident response (DFIR), which can attract more experts from that field to openSUSE and most likely SUSE. They will find article, even in its rudimentary form as useful. This another article he wrote: http://en.opensuse.org/Portal:Digital_forensics_and_incident_response Obviously it needs rework, ie. to put some content in other articles, but curretly abused openSUSE namespace is probably not right answer for such articles. SDB, probably, not too. -- Regards, Rajko. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse-web+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse-web+owner@opensuse.org

I Agree completely Rajko. Our friend may have limited knowledge with wiki editing and conventional methods, however let that not distract us from the fact that they are contributing and what they have to contribute is useful and sound knowledge that can benefit in a multitude of areas. Rather than delete the article for lack of appropriate structure, lets help that individual by either guiding them to improve on their structure so that their continued contributions will be better and more fluid in their delivery. If we delete it, it could cause a significant negative impact to the community from a marketing stand point of cooperative effort. It could be construed as announcing that if a person tries to contribute to the wiki and makes mistakes the first time around we delete their efforts and provide no positive guidance or feedback on what they did wrong, leaving that person with a negative or unwelcome feeling with which they may never contribute again or possibly even leave our distribution for some other completely. They may also tell their friends that while we advertise in many areas that we welcome contribution, we make it difficult to do so by being very stringent on technicalities thus scaring away anyone who isn't already proficient with wiki editing. The idea is to MOTIVATE contribution, not hinder it. -- God bless !
