As I’m sure you’ve noticed from the advertising, elevator music, and office parties, the holidays are upon us. So I want to take this opportunity to wish everyone in the Product Development and UX Leaders group Happy Holidays!

And with the New Year fast approaching, it’s the perfect chance to get your product plans in order for 2015. Why not pose your ideas, questions or advice-requests to the unrivaled roster of talent we have in this group?

To get your wheels turning I have put together a couple discussions that have been getting some buzz in the group the past few weeks. As you’ll see in the comments, our community here has really taken off and there is some awesome knowledge and experience being shared between members.

How do you integrate UX into Agile?

This question was met with a lively conversation from a variety of professionals with experience on the topic. The comments and the question itself go a long way to proving that there is nothing wrong with asking others for advice.

While you’ll never escape having to deal with last second changes, we’ve seen some fantastic comments about preparing and staying a couple steps ahead of the game. Add your thoughts by visiting the link here:

The value of describing your product in less than 10 words

How many “elevator pitches” do you give? 2 a day? 10 a day? 250 a minute?

We all make our pitches whether at cocktail parties, business meetings or networking events. And the article being discussed here gives the advice that, “A good product shouldn’t be complicated to explain.” But your “pitch” needs to be descriptive. The brain trust in the group has run with this topic and shared a ton of suggestions and opinions on the post.

We’d love to hear what you have to say, and even a little bit about how you have crafted your elevator pitch by joining in below:

What do you find most frustrating or difficult when conducting User Surveys or Interviews?

Before kicking off your next round of user surveys/interviews, take a look at some of the problems your fellow group members have encountered. The answers in this forum run the gamut and offer some solid advice along with common problems.

I wanted to send another HUGE shout out to everyone for getting involved and sharing their thoughts with the group. Product Development and UX Leaders is really starting to gain steam, and we have some big things planned for 2015!

I hope you’ll take the chance to jump into a few of the discussions highlighted here or even start your own discussion topic on the group home page. And as always, feel free to reach out to me with any questions, comments, concerns or ideas for improvements you’d like to see made in the group.

Thanks,
