Hi, I'm fairly new to Uyuni and I am evaluating it as a better solution than Micro Focus SMT. I've entered my Micro Focus credentials and I can see all the OES 2018 products but not OES 2023, which I can see on my Micro Focus SMT server. Will OES 2023 appear eventually or do I need to do anything in particular to add these products? I couldn't see anything about this in the documentation. Thanks, Nick
Hello, We have been using Uyuni for OES2018 in addition to SLES12 / SLES15 for quite a while now. OES2023 is still tagged as "OEStest" in the current product_tree.json. I think that might be the reason why OES2023 might not appear under the valid Micro Focus credentials yet. Whether this is actually the case is of course just an assumption on my part, but maybe someone from the core team can say more? In any case, I can confirm that updates and maintenance of OES20XX can be done very conveniently with Uyuni. We don't want to do without it anymore. From our point of view there is no reason for stress because OES2023 is not yet available as a mirror channel in Uyuni. A migration from 2018 to 2023 is only possible via the installation medium or Autoyast anyway, since a migration from SLES12 to SLES15 takes place. Regards Thomas

Hi Thomas, Thank you for your reply, it is encouraging to find someone else is using Uyuni for OES server patching. I noticed that there was an update on the Uyuni project github yesterday:- additional_products.json set oes2023 to released So it appears that oes2023 availability in Uyuni due soon. Thanks again for your reply. Nick.
Hi All, Since updating to 2022.11 I notice that OES2023 has changed to 'released'. I'm still not seeing it in the list of available products (just OES 2018 SP*) so I just wanted to check whether others were before investigating whether there's an issue with my credentials with Micro Focus. Thanks, Nick.

I found the problem. It was OES2023 was only enabled for SUSE Manager. I have just uploaded a change of the product tree. You need to refresh the product data and then you should be able to see it in the product page. But it seems there are some problems with syncing the repos. I will investigate this. -- Regards Michael Calmer -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Michael Calmer SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, Frankenstraße 146, D-90461 Nuernberg T: +49 (0) 911 74053 0 F: +49 (0) 911 74053575 - e-mail: Michael.Calmer@suse.com -------------------------------------------------------------------------- SUSE Software Solutions Germany GmbH, GF: Ivo Totev, Andrew Myers, Andrew McDonald, Boudien Moerman (HRB 36809, AG Nürnberg)
Hi Michael and Nick, I updated the product data and now it shows OES2023. However, only the main channel can be selected for synchronization, not individual sub-channels. When you click on the right selection symbol (show product channels), all mandatory channels are listed, but you cannot select any optional channels individually. The same applies to OES2018SP3. The main channel can be selected, with which the mandatory channels are also synchronized, but optional channels cannot be selected. Should a Github case be created here? Thanks for the support and the really great product! Regards Thomas Weis

Thanks for checking Thomas. I just did a product refresh as if by magic, there it was! It definitely wasn't there yesterday when I sent the email. Currently you can only do this on the command line $> mgr-sync add channel <label>

Not needed. We have them already. It is on our todo list. But as usual, there is always something more important comming in :-)
Thanks for the support and the really great product!

Hi Michael, I'm curious if you had the opportunity to analyze the problem in more detail? I noticed that the authorization for the specific repo is not working correctly. (ask for password for user on reposync) I manually created the main channel with a slightly different name and associated repo. I used 'https://username:password@correct.repo.product/correct.productrepo...' for the URL of the repo. The channel and repo were then properly synced. Regards Thomas
