Do you see any epoch specified in the channel on Uyuni side? Maybe in the details of the package.

For me it sounds like an issue of resolving the updates on server side.

If you haven't open an issue on the github about this problem, it's better to do it to make developers aware of it.

OK, our systems are running version 2.02, release 0.81.el7; the CentOS channel in Uyuni shows that there is a version 2.02 release 0.87.el7. Yet when I do a yum list command from one of our servers, all I see is the local installed package – it’s not picking up the one on the Uyuni system:

[root@libvm21 yum.repos.d]# yum list grub2-2.02*

Loaded plugins: fastestmirror, susemanagerplugin, tmprepo, venv-yumnotify

Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile

Installed Packages

grub2.x86_64                    1:2.02-0.81.el7.centos                     @base

[root@libvm21 yum.repos.d]#

Looks like something is wrong with the calculation while there is an epoch in the package.

Try to check with any of these packages:

1. What is the installed package's EVR (Epoch, Version, Release)

2. What are EVRs of the same package available with the channels assigned to this client

3. What EVRs are shown on the page with suggested updates.

Most of our CentOS 7 servers are reporting that grub2 package needs to be upgraded, but they all fail to upgrade, giving this error message:

comment: |-

        The following packages failed to install/update: grub2-common=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2-pc-modules=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2-tools-minimal=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2-pc=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2-tools=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7, grub2-tools-extra=1:2.02-0.87.el7.centos.7

(code 2)

When I manually run yum update on these servers, I get “No packages marked for update”. So why is Uyuni reporting that grub2 needs to be updated?
