Can not go to internet after doing online update with YOU

Dear my friends... I use SuSE 9.2. My internet connection is through the LAN of the company where I work. Before doing update with YOU (YaST2) I could go to internet. I downloaded and installed all patches at the moment. Once, I restarted me computer then I can not go to internet anymore. I use DHCP and automatic DNS for my NIC. I can only do ping to it self this way: " ping 127.0.0.1 ". Please tell me what happened and what is the solution of my problem. Thanks in advance. __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? Please tell me what happened and what is the solution of my problem. You really need to provide more information: First, run /sbin/ifconfig to determine if DHCP is giving you a valid ip address. Secondly, ping a known IP address on your LAN. Check your routing table with netstat -nr to make sure that the routing table has the correct information.
Once you have established that you can reach an internal node and the routing table shows the default route through the proper gateway, try to ping an external system by ip address. (Try one of the DNS servers). Note that some servers will not respond to ping, and that some company firewalls will not allow ICMP (eg. ping) packets. -- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> Boston Linux and Unix user group http://www.blu.org PGP key id:C5061EA9 PGP Key fingerprint:053C 73EC 3AC1 5C44 3E14 9245 FB00 3ED5 C506 1EA9

OK, my friend.... I solved the problem. I don't know why but I found that after update, then dinamic DNS does not work anymore (option "change the DNS according to DHCP"). So I just use static DNS Server. Thank you very much for your help. I still remember, you were the man who answered my question about GNU C++. Thanks. --- Jerry Feldman <gaf@blu.org> wrote:
