Thanks Jan,
I'm practicing patients today.... Actually, the ability to wait comfortably is a practiced art...
It should have popped up on the ftp by now. Please try.

Jan, My patients has paid off. The mad-wifi module works perfectly. The modules load without problems: 18:46 Rankin-P35a:/home/david/Documents # lsmod | grep ath ath_rate_sample 17024 1 ath_pci 101024 0 wlan 209092 5 wlan_tkip,wlan_scan_sta,ath_rate_sample,ath_pci ath_hal 195664 3 ath_rate_sample,ath_pci However, I do have a few questions about the 2.6.22 mad-wifi setup. First, in Yast I now have *2* drivers each for eth0 and wireless. For the wireless device, there are two entries of: AR5212 802.11abg NIC and, Yast will not let me delete either one. The only difference between the two is that one says: Device Name: wlan-bus-pci-0000:02.02.0 while the other one says: Device Name: wlan-id-00:11:f5:15:2d:83 Normal?? Additionally iwconfig returns the following warning: 16:30 Rankin-P35a:/home/david # iwconfig wifi0 no wireless extensions. Warning: Driver for device ath0 has been compiled with version 22 of Wireless Extension, while this program supports up to version 21. Some things may be broken... ath0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID:"rbpllc" Nickname:"" Mode:Managed Frequency:2.437 GHz Access Point: 00:12:17:04:9C:CC Bit Rate:54 Mb/s Tx-Power:16 dBm Sensitivity=1/1 Retry:off RTS thr:off Fragment thr:off Encryption key:D139-1CD5-B452-5766-528F-BC00-E206-BF1E Security mode:restricted Power Management:off Link Quality=45/70 Signal level=-49 dBm Noise level=-94 dBm Rx invalid nwid:9859 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0 Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0 Like I said before, it is working wonderfully and showing better signal strength than before. So I'm not too concerned about the warning. Thank you very much for building the driver and saving me the grief of a downgrade. There are a few more quirks, but I will start a fresh thread.

The for-profit corporate model applied to the healing arts makes strange bedfellows. We are all too poor to afford to get sick.....
